The Ptschowscha ( Russian Пчёвжа ) is a 157 km long, east-southeast and orographically right tributary of the Volkhov in the Oblasts of Novgorod and Leningrad in north-west Russia .

The Ptschowscha rises in the Ljubytino Rajon of the Novgorod Oblast, about 10 km south-southwest of Wodogon . The Talaja joins a little below it . The Ptschowscha flows in a predominantly west-northwest direction. It runs a piece in the Leningrad Oblast and there passes the towns of Budogoschtsch and Ptschowscha . Finally, the river flows into the Volkhov around 13 km south-southwest of Krischi - around 1 km above the mouth of the Tigoda  - at a height of just over 17  m .

The Ptschowscha drains a catchment area of 1970 km². It is largely fed by the snowmelt . In April and May it regularly floods . 44 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 12.2 m³ / s. The river freezes in November and December and remains ice-covered until April. The Ptschowscha is navigable for the lower 30 km .
