The Lanzendorf Viaduct is a 1093 m long bridge on the Federal Highway 9 . It was built between 1995 and 1997 as part of the six-lane expansion of the motorway ( traffic project German Unity No. 12 ), at a cost of around 71 million DM.
The bridge lies between the Bad Berneck junction and the Bayreuth / Kulmbach motorway triangle . In the area of Lanzendorf , a district of the Upper Franconian municipality of Himmelkron in the district of Kulmbach , the old motorway route ran right through the village. Therefore, as part of the realignment, the new bridge was built east of the town. The structure crosses the valley of the White Main and the affluent Kronach to the White Main at a height of a maximum of 32 m with 20 fields , as well as a community road from Lanzendorf to Bad Berneck and one to Doebitsch.
Superstructures
The two adjacent superstructures of the prestressed concrete girder bridge have the continuous girder as a structural system in the longitudinal direction . In the transverse direction, the superstructures are designed as single-cell box girder cross-sections with a constant construction height of 3.75 m. The superstructure is prestressed in the longitudinal and transverse directions with internal tendons . The standard fields of the 20-field structure are 55 m long.
pier
The 19 pillars of each superstructure have a full, disk-like reinforced concrete cross-section . This consists of two hexagonal pillars that are connected to each other by a disc. A beam is arranged on the pier head to accommodate the bearings .
execution
The bridge was built using incremental launching.
Redevelopment
The renovation of the bridge began at the end of 2018. Caps, road surfaces and the associated sealing of the bridge as well as the transition structures were replaced. The protective devices were upgraded by installing components with higher retention capacity. The repair work was completed at the end of November 2019.
