Tale is a coastal town in the municipality of Lezha in northern Albania . The village is about five kilometers west of Shënkoll and ten kilometers southwest of Lezha.
Tale lies on the Drin Gulf of the Adriatic Sea . On the wide, flat and fine sandy beach there are a few hotels and restaurants for bathers, but the area is not very touristy compared to other coastal sections of the country.
The flat coastal plain between the rivers Mat in the south and Drin in the north was formerly characterized by swamps. To the north of Tale, at the mouth of the Drin, there is still a large wetland with lagoons and swamps, the Kuna-Vain-Tale reserve .
A distinction is made between the districts Tale № 1 and the further west lying valley № 2 , which are separated by the backwaters of the Mat. Today's place is developing mainly on the beach a little north of these districts. Until 2015, Tale belonged to the municipality ( komuna ) Shënkoll , which was then merged with the other municipalities in Lezha County .
