The Erletor dam is a dam near Hirschbach , a district of the town of Schleusingen near Suhl in southern Thuringia . The dark alder is dammed up to supply drinking water. The dam was put into operation in 1968.
Dam wall
The dam is a gravity dam made of concrete . It consists of ten meter wide fields that are sealed with sheet copper and waterstops. The wall is built on quartz porphyry rock. The subsurface was coated with a sealing curtain.
The dam is essentially straight, but angled on the right slope and is significantly lower there.
