The Klingerbach dam is the smallest drinking water dam in Saxony . It was built for the drinking water supply of Zwickau and is the "little sister" of the Amselbach dam .
Dam wall
The dam of the Klingerbach dam is a gravity dam made of concrete with a quarry stone cladding . The dam was built from 1939 to 1940 near Weißbach near Zwickau. Commissioning was on October 8, 1940. In 1997 it was repaired. The top of the wall is accessible, but there is no bridge over the flood relief . The dammed body of water is the Klingerbach , a tributary of the Zwickauer Mulde .
Freetime activities
Recreational sports in and on the reservoir are not possible. Even hiking around the reservoir is not worthwhile because the reservoir is very small. Below the dam there are some Finn huts as weekend houses.
