The dam Nam Pung is a dam with hydroelectric power plant in the district of Kut Bak , Province Sakon Nakhon , Thailand . It dams the Phung to a reservoir.
The dam is used to generate electricity. It went into operation in 1965. The dam is owned by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and is also operated by EGAT.
Barrier structure
The barrier structure is a stone embankment with a clay core and a height of 41 m. The length of the dam crest is 1720 m, its width 10 m. The top of the dam is at a height of 286.5 m above sea level .
Reservoir
When the reservoir is completely blocked, it extends over an area of around 21 km² and holds 165 million m³ of water.
power plant
The installed capacity of the power plant is 6 MW with two turbines . The annual production is 17 million kWh .
