Amphoe Kut Bak ( Thai : อำเภอ กุดบาก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the southeast of the province of Sakon Nakhon . The province of Sakon Nakhon is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Amphoe Kut Bak is bordered clockwise from the north by Amphoe Nikhom Nam Un , Phanna Nikhom , Mueang Sakon Nakhon and Phu Phan in Sakon Nakhon Province, Amphoe Kham Muang in Kalasin Province and Amphoe Wang Sam Mo in Udon Province Thani .

history

Amphoe Kut Bak was founded on February 1, 1964 as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) when the three tambon Kut Bak, Khok Phu and Na Mong were separated from the district of Amphoe Mueang Sakon Nakhon . On November 14, 1967, Kut Bak was promoted to full Amphoe.

Attractions

The Phu Pha Lek National Park extends over the Phu Phan mountain range that runs through the district.

The district of Kut Bak is divided into three tambon ("sub-districts" or "municipalities"), which are further subdivided into 40 muban ("villages").

There are four municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Kut Haet (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุด แฮ ด ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Kut Bak.
Na Mong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา ม่อง ), consisting of the entire tambon Na Mong.
Kut Hai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุด ไห ), consisting of the entire tambon Kut Hai.
Kut Bak (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุดบาก ), consisting of the remaining parts of the Tambon Kut Bak.
