Amphoe Phang Khon ( Thai อำเภอ พังโคน ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) of the Sakon Nakhon Province . The province of Sakon Nakhon is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

The Amphoe Phang Khon is located in the center of the province Sakon Nakhon and borders clockwise from the north to the Amphoe Wanon Niwat , Phanna Nikhom , Waritchaphum and Sawang Daen Din .

Amphoe Phang Khon and the surrounding area are supplied by the Nam-Un Dam .

history

The Amphoe Phang Khon was created on March 20, 1968 as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) by separating the three tambon Mueang Khai, Hai Yong and Rae from the Amphoe Phanna Nikhom . On November 16, 1971, it was upgraded to a full Amphoe.

Local administration

There are four municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Phang Khon Si Champa (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พังโคน ศรี จำปา ) consists of parts of the Tambon Phang Khon.
  • Rae (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แร่ ) consists of the whole Tambon Rae.
  • Hai Yong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ไฮ หย่อง ) consists of the whole tambon Hai Yong.
  • Phang Khon (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พังโคน ) consists of parts of the rest of the Tambon Phang Khon.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Muang Khai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ม่วง ไข่ )
  • Ton Phueng (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ต้น ผึ้ง )
