Tambra Island (English; Bulgarian остров Тъмбра ostrow Tambra ) is a largely icy island of the Pitt Islands in the Biscoe Islands archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In a southwest-northeast orientation, it is 1.17 km long and 700 m wide. It is located 0.7 km northeast of Weller Island and 0.73 km east-southeast of Krivus Island . It is separated from Jingle Island to the northeast by a 60 m wide passage .
British scientists mapped it in 1971. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2013 after the Tambra hill in southern Bulgaria .
