Taminga

Taminga is a white wine variety . The new breed was presented in 1970 by the Horticultural Research Station of the CSRI in Merbein in the state of Victoria , Australia. It is a cross of the varieties Planta Fina de Pedralba, Sultana and Traminer red. The breeder of the strain was Alan J. Antcliff.

The taminga was bred for very warm climates. These conditions are common in Victoria, Australia. Even under these conditions, the variety retains sufficient acidity and has a slight nutmeg aroma.
