Tamworth Two
The Tamworth Two ( 1997 - October 8, 2010 and 1997 - May 23, 2011 ) were two pigs that became famous in England in the late 1990s. They escaped from a van that was supposed to drive them to the butcher in Malmsbury , Wiltshire in January 1998 . The two Tamworth pigs, later dubbed Butch (after Butch Cassidy ) and Sundance (after the Sundance Kid ) by the media , were on the run for a little over a week and during that time aroused great public interest in the UK and internationally . The BBC designed the story in 2003 as a dramatic reappraisal.
After they had recaptured the two pigs lived in a luxurious barn in the Rare Breeds Center in Woodchurch in Ashford in the county of Kent . Sundance died at the age of 14, his sister pig Butch seven months earlier.
