The Tangahnsee is a lake southwest of Woldzegarten, a district of Leizen in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The 25.8 hectare body of water lies between the Plauer See and the Müritz in the east of the Mecklenburg Lake District . The maximum extent of the 73  m above sea level. The water surface located at sea ​​level is 640 meters by 520 meters. The water is surrounded on all sides by a strip of deciduous trees, a smaller forest area adjoins the lake to the southwest. There is a swimming area on the north bank.

There are tributaries from the surrounding meadows and wooded areas as well as a draining connection to the Kleiner and then to the Großer Kreßinsee , which drains via the Kellerbach stream towards Müritz.
