Leizen
The former Slavic Rundling Leizen first appeared in the local church chronicle in 1298. A tower hill castle already existed in the Middle Ages , later a castle was built near it. From the 14th century until the 18th century, Leizen, along with other villages in the area, was owned by the von Knuth family and in 1750 came to the district councilor Ernst Friedrich von Gundlach with surrounding lands . The Wilhelminian manor house was built in 1898. The place was dominated by agriculture until the present day. In 1996 the South Mecklenburg industrial and commercial park was opened.
Minzow
The district of Minzow is also of Slavic origin. The Lords of Below owned several hooves in the farming village in the 15th century . After building its own church in 1862, Minzow became an independent parish. Minzow was an independent municipality until the merger with Leizen in 2004.
Woldzegarten
The Woldzegarten district was owned by the von Flotow family from the 15th to the 20th century . After the owner and the manager were evicted in 1945, various community facilities were housed in the manor house. After the fall of the Wall, the estate fell into disrepair, but was then extensively renovated in the late 1990s. The manor house now serves as a hotel, the large farm building as a culture barn.
