Tangendorf is part of the municipality of Toppenstedt in the combined municipality of Salzhausen in the Harburg district in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

Tangendorf is located about 35 km south of Hamburg , partly in the northern Lüneburg Heath Nature Park and north of the Garlstorfer Wald conservation area and the surrounding area . It has an area of ​​935 ha .

history

Tangendorf is derived from the original name Tannendorf. Because the village then consisted of a large fir forest.

In 1930 the Tangendorf disc fibula was found near a Bronze Age burial mound , which was one of the most magnificent fibulae from the Roman Empire in Northern Germany and in 2002 became the symbol of the community of Toppenstedt. The primer is shown in the Archaeological Museum Hamburg .

On July 1, 1972 Tangendorf was incorporated into the neighboring community of Toppenstedt.

Annually recurring events

Traditionally, the Buurnreken (wood auction ) takes place at the village community festival. Important events of the village community are Faslam and the shooting festival, the highlight of which is the king's ball.
