Tanio Boccia

Tanio Boccia (* 1912 in Potenza , † 1982 in Rome ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

Boccia was active as a dancer and choreographer in the 1930s and 1940s ; he was also seen as an actor in dialect pieces. From 1950 he switched to the film business and made a total of 20 films; best known are his adventure and historical films , such as Julius Caesar, the tyrant of Rome (1962), Samson and the white slaves (1963) and Il dominatore del deserto (1964); he often shot with Kirk Morris . At the end of the 1960s he also shot some spaghetti westerns .

Boccia's stage name was Amerigo Anton .
