action

In a small town in the American West, a deep rift divides the Griffith family, which has its cause in old Jonathan and his quarrel with the Drummond family. The sniper reaches Ringo, who is looking for revenge and pretends to be a violin player. Nobody recognizes him, but he has to fight off the attack by Spot Griffith, whom he kills. He goes to the Drumont ranch, where only the pretty Lisa lives with her grandmother and her cousin Steve. Ringo learns from her what misdeeds the Griffith family has accumulated.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Griffith hires the gun hero Baltimore Joe to avenge his son. The attack fails. The plan to force Lisa to marry her eldest son Chester, who also seriously injured Ringo in a battle, works better. Ringo is nursed back to health by old Petrack and can then take action against the Griffiths with the help of the town sheriff. He interrupts the wedding ceremony and can kill all Griffiths and their helpers.

criticism

L'Avvenire d'Italia judged that "the themes and motifs already seen in countless other westerns made this work by Amerigo Anton (di Tanio Boccia) boring and useless". The lexicon of international films said it was a "cruel European western that disguises the desire to kill with the appearance of legitimacy." The Evangelical Film Observer comes to a similar assessment : ".. . is an Italian color widescreen western with the usual characteristics: hard, brutal, sadistic and with a dazzling legal point of view. Superfluous."

Remarks

A Japanese single was released with the score. Enzo Cifiello interprets the song “I must go” .
