Tanja Salkowski (born November 25, 1977 in Zurich ) is a German author , blogger , presenter and journalist . She is also an activist to raise awareness about depression and other mental disorders .

Life

Tanja Salkowski grew up in Andernach and moved to Stuttgart in 1996 , where she studied advertising and market communication at the Media University. After completing her studies, she initially worked as a management assistant for a media agency in Saarbrücken . In 2004 she started her own business as a music manager and marketing consultant. a. for Claudia Kohde-Kilsch . In the same year she and colleagues founded the city ​​beach Potato Island (today Saarstrand / Big Island) in Saarbrücken , based on the model of Paris-Plages . Other jobs followed as a PR consultant, editor, animator and moderator, etc. a. for a cruise company.

On February 14th, 2012 Tanja Salkowski attempted suicide. In the same year, she was hospitalized for depression . She founded the blog sonnengrau , in which she reports on her everyday life with depression to this day.

Her debut novel sonnengrau was published in 2013 . I have depression - so what? , which was featured in leading media. In 2014 the novel was published in South Korea.

Salkowski has hosted the radio show Radio sonnengrau in the Lübeck Open Canal since 2014 . She founded the non-profit project together with friends and experts to educate people about depression and other mental illnesses in an entertaining way. The radio show is a pioneering project nationwide and was awarded the DGPPN Antistigma Prize in 2014 and the federal startsocial Prize in 2015.

Tanja Salkowski gives nationwide readings and lectures on the subject of depression.
