history

After the "Haus Seefrieden" opened in Cunnertswalde in 1903, the "Tannenhof" drinking sanctuary was one of the first in-patient addiction aid facilities in the Kingdom of Saxony. It was inaugurated in 1909 by the Inner Mission and also served as a refuge for alcoholics.

From 1917 on, the Tannenhof was used as a reformatory for neglected and retarded girls. A private vocational school for girls was also attached to the Tannenhof girls' education center.

From 1934 the property was used as a rest home and after the end of the Second World War as a refugee home. In 1948 an after-work home was set up in the Tannenhof. In 1997 the Diakoniewerk Oberlausitz opened a dormitory for people with intellectual disabilities in the former "Tannenhof" nursing home. 16 residents with severe behavioral problems moved from the Großhennersdorfer Katharinenhof to the Tannenhof. On June 10, 2009 the 100th anniversary of the Tannenhof was celebrated with a festive service in the Luther Church.

Due to the high need for renovation and the lack of accessibility and a sewage treatment plant, the home for the disabled was closed in July 2014. The Diakoniewerk Oberlausitz then put the Tannenhof with the associated 50,000 m² of forest and meadow areas up for sale.

In 2016 the motorcycle club RKMC Germany Chapter 7 took over the Tannenhof as a club building.
