Tanti is a village in the Punilla department in the Argentine province of Córdoba . It is in the southeast of the Punilla valley at 865 m above sea level, around 50 km from the city of Cordoba .

history

Before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors in 1573, the area of ​​Tanti was inhabited by the Comechingones people who were already farming.
During the 16th and 17th centuries it was an estancia under the name Merced de Quisquizacate that raised mules for the Peruvian silver mining industry. The founding date of the village is the consecration of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario ( Our Lady of the Rosary ) chapel on March 23, 1848, which was elevated to a parish church in 1966 .
