Tanya Streeter

Tanya Streeter (* 10. January 1973 in Grand Cayman , Cayman Islands as Tanya Dailey ) is multiple world record holder in freediving . She has been a freediver since 1998 and so far holds 10  world records .

life and career

Tanya Streeter has two nationalities: the US because of her US father and the British because the Cayman Islands are a British overseas territory and her mother is British.

Streeter set her first world record in 1998 when she dived 113 meters free (deep diving, no limits). In 2002 it reached a depth of 160 m and thus held the absolute world record in freediving for a few months. Since 2006 she has worked on several marine and animal documentaries, including for the Discovery Channel and the BBC . For her work on the documentary A Plastic Ocean , she and Craig Leeson received the Environmental Media Prize in 2017 .
