The Taran Plateau ( Bulgarian Търънско плато Taransko plato ) is an east-west extension 5.5 km long, 3.3 km wide and 1100 to 1700  m high plateau on the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . As part of the Stribog Mountains , it is connected to the south of the Laënnec Glacier , to the west and north of the Swetowratschene Glacier and to the northeast of the Malpighi Glacier to the southwest with the Basarbovo Ridge and to the east by the Doriones Saddle to the Avroleva Heights . Its steep north slopes and parts of the south-east and south-west slopes are largely free of ice.

British scientists mapped it in 1980 and 2008. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2015 after the town of Taran in southern Bulgaria .
