The Tassie Tarn ( English for Tasmania pond ) is a small, triangular lake on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . In the Larsemann Hills it is located in a steep-walled valley in a chain of hills around 400 m south of the Johnston Fjord on the Stornes peninsula .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it descriptively in 1987. In its shape, it is reminiscent of the outline of Tasmania .
