Tassilo Tesche

Tassilo Tesche (* 1973 in Munich ) is a German scenographer and author. He works in the field of theater and visual arts.

Life

Tassilo Tesche studied stage design at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, German and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin . Parallel to his studies at the FU, he was a guest auditor at the Directing Institute of the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art . He graduated in 2001 from the Berlin University of the Arts in architecture with the artist Katharina Sieverding and the architect Benedict Tonon. During his studies, he worked as an outfitter for the bat studio theater at the Ernst Busch University (in collaboration with Simon Dittmann) and for Christoph Schlingensief's U3000 program (equipment in a team with Katja Schlömer and Thorsten Sabel).

After completing his studies, he worked as an architect in the design team at Daniel Libeskind Architects Berlin (successful competitions: Royal Ontario Museum , Victoria and Albert Museum , One World Trade Center ). Collaboration in numerous other architectural offices, specializing in the design and renovation of theater buildings, etc. a. at Arno Meijs and F101 Architects Berlin.

He attended productions by Robert Wilson and Pier Luigi Pizzi at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence . From 2003 to 2005 he was assistant set designer at the Lucerne Theater . Since then, numerous theater sets at home and abroad with directors such as Ludger Engels , Florentine Klepper, Emma Dante and Till Wyler von Ballmoos . Since 2008, the focus of his theater work has been on developing world premieres in a team with directors, authors and composers. A longstanding collaboration connects him with the composer Leo Dick, with whom he founded the artist collective Weitwinkel. Much of his furnishing work is conceived for urban space or reorganizing conventional theater spaces.

He developed room and video installations, for example. B. as a guest artist at the Villa Romana in Florence, for the White Night in Kiel or in the nomad series at the Center d'Art Neuchâtel.

Teaching and Research

In the 2017 summer semester, Tesche was visiting professor at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . Since spring 2010 he has been working as a guest lecturer at the Bern University of the Arts in the courses of music and media art , contemporary arts practice and théâtre musical . He had various teaching positions at various universities such as B. at the Zurich University of the Arts , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Università Iuav Venice . From 2012 to 2015 he was a research assistant at the Bern University of the Arts in the Interpretation research area. From 2013 to 2016 he was a scholarship holder of the ProArt graduate program at the Ludwig Maximilians University in cooperation with the DAAD.
