Tatafa (also: Tatefa ) is an island in the center of Ha'apai in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .

geography

The motu and ʻUiha are located south of the Ava Auhangamea channel , at a point where the reef stretches to the west, where the islets of Luangahu , Hakauʻata and Lofanga rise up alongside other rocks and reef islands. These belong to the Uiha administrative district . To the north, there is a partitioned reef fringe with the islands of Uoleva and Lifuka .

climate

The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands in the Ha'apai group, Tatafa is occasionally hit by cyclones .
