Pigeon Tower in Louvres

The pigeon tower (French colombier ) in Louvres , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built at the beginning of the 17th century. The pigeon tower made of quarry stone with corner blocks belongs to a farm and is located on Rue Milton.

The rectangular pigeon tower served as a side entrance to the farm with a door for pedestrians and a larger passage for pull carts. The dovecote was on the upper floor of the tower. On the inside of the dovecote there were around 1100 nests made of clay for the pigeons. In recent years, the building has deteriorated and the adjacent buildings have been demolished.
