Pigeon tower at Château Lescombes
The pigeon tower (French colombier or pigeonnier ) of the Château Lescombes in Eysines , a French commune in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built in the 17th century. The former pigeon tower has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1992 .
The round tower made of plastered quarry stone has a portal decoration in the Renaissance style , which comes from the destroyed part of the castle. Inside the pigeon tower there is a twelve meter deep well that supplies a water reservoir created in the building at the beginning of the 20th century.
