Tauber district , formerly Brunnberg , is within the boundaries of the core city Wertheim leavened living space in the Main-Tauber-Kreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

history

Dismantled hospital in the Brückenviertel, 1870

The place was first mentioned in 1382 as Brunnberg .

During the construction of the Lauda – Wertheim railway line from 1866 to 1868, major changes were made to the cityscape of the Tauberviertel. For example, the hospital at that time was dismantled to make room for the railroad. The biggest intervention, however, was probably the demolition of the wooden, covered Tauber Bridge in 1873. Since the axis of the new bridge was rotated slightly, a few houses had to be demolished for the construction of the bridge, including the Centhaus. On May 13, 1873, an emergency bridge was completed, over which the traffic was guided while the bridge was being built.

The Tauberviertel residential area opened in the core town of Wertheim around 1970.
