Baptismal font in Chavenay

The baptismal font in the Catholic parish church of St-Pierre in Chavenay , a French parish in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region , was created in the 13th century. In 1914, the Gothic baptismal font was added to the list of protected objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The 77 cm high baptismal font, which was created from a single block of limestone , stands on an oval base. The top of the basin is decorated with a leaf frieze with grapes. Four set columns are decorated with leaf ornaments on both sides.

The baptismal font still has traces of a colored frame.
