The baptismal font in the Catholic Church of St-Nicolas in Meulan-en-Yvelines , a French parish in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region , was created in the second half of the 16th century. In 2008 the baptismal font was added to the list of protected objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as a monument historique .

The oval baptismal font made of limestone stands on a rectangular base with a column. The outside of the basin is decorated with garlands in the form of oak leaves, a Maltese cross and daisies . On the underside, fluting can be seen all around .

The Maltese Cross is believed to be a symbol of the von Vion family, who had lived in Meulan since the 15th century and of which several members were Knights of the Order of Malta .
