Baptismal font in Maurepas

The baptismal font in the Catholic parish church of St-Sauveur in Maurepas , a French parish in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region , was created at the end of the 16th century. In 1960 the baptismal font was added to the list of protected objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The 91 cm high limestone baptismal font was donated by Jean du Fay, landlord of Chevreuse and Maurepas. His coat of arms is attached to the larger of the two basins.

The oval basins with profiling still have remnants of the colored frame.
