Tauren Gabriel Wells (born April 7, 1986 in Battle Creek , Michigan ) is an American Christian pop and R&B musician and songwriter .

biography

Tauren Wells was a founding member of the band Royal Tailor , which formed in 2004. In 2011 their first album Black & White was released, followed by the second album Royal Tailor in 2013. Both albums reached the Billboard 200 and were each nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Contemporary Christian Music Album . Royal Tailor disbanded in 2015, Tauren Wells continued his music career as a solo artist.

In July 2016, Tauren Wells released his first solo single Undefeated . The EP of the same name was released in September . His first studio album, Hills and Valleys , was released in June 2017 and peaked at number 5 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums . Two singles from the album were awarded gold by the RIAA . Wells received a Grammy nomination for the album and the songs Hills and Valleys , Known and God's Not Done With You . In January 2020, Wells released his second album Citizen of Heaven and entered the Billboard 200 as a solo artist for the first time.
