The Taylor Outlier is a relatively isolated rocky outcrop in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . In the Thiel Mountains, it rises just before the front of the western end of the Bermel Escarpment at a distance of about 2.5 km east of the lower section of the Counts Icefall .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1961. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1962 after the geologist Alfred R. Taylor, who was in the frame from 1959 to 1960 of the United States Antarctic Research Program participated in the crossing of the Victoria Lands.
