The Tazin River is a left tributary of the taltson river in the southern Northwest Territories and in the north of the province of Saskatchewan in Canada .

It has its origin west of Dunvegan Lake in the south of the Northwest Territories. From there it flows in a southwest direction to Saskatchewan and Tazin Lake . The two rivers Ena River and Abitau River flow into this from the north . The Tazin River leaves the lake in a westerly direction, passes the Teseljiri Falls , then turns north and flows through Hill Island Lake . The Thoa River flows into this from the right . After its outflow from the lake, the Tazin River makes a wide curve to the west, passes several smaller lakes and rapids, changes its direction of flow again to the northwest and finally meets the Taltson River.

The Tazin River is navigable by canoe.
