The Thoa River is a right tributary of the Tazin River in the southeast of Canada's Northwest Territories .

The Thoa River has its origin 10 km west of the Labyrinth Lake through which the Dubawnt River flows . The Thoa River flows predominantly to the west. It has a series of lake-like broadening of the river along its course. An important tributary is the Marten River , which comes from the south . In the lower reaches, the Thoa River turns south and changes direction to the west shortly before it meets the Hill Island Lake through which the Tazin River flows . The Thoa River has a length of about 280 km. Its catchment area is north of Lake Athabasca and southeast of the Great Slave Lake and covers 8830 km². The mean discharge is 43 m³ / s.
