Tchangodei
Tchangodei (born June 13, 1957 in Benin ) is a Beninese painter and jazz pianist .
Life
The musical autodidact became known through his composition Sonate Africaine and his collaboration with Steve Lacy , Archie Shepp , Mal Waldron , Sunny Murray , Sonny Simmons and Louis Sclavis . He has toured several times in Europe, North Africa and Japan.
Tchangodei has been running the Le Bec du Jazz club in Lyon , where he also lives, for more than 20 years .
