Tchibo Mobil is a German mobile communications discounter . The company started in October 2004 as a joint venture between Tchibo and Telefónica Germany , making it the first mobile communications discounter in Germany.

In August 2007, Tchibo Mobile was the first mobile discounter a prepaid - flatrate for calls to German fixed network one, then in 2011 became the first German prepaid discounter EU - roaming tariffs.

The number of customers rose from around one million in September 2007 to 1.5 million in August 2010. From April 2015, the E-Plus mobile network could be used in addition to the O 2 network through national roaming until it was switched off .

According to a study by the news magazine FOCUS and the management consultancy forum! Mainz in 2017, Tchibo Mobil came second among the providers with the most satisfied customers, just behind the market leader Aldi Talk .
