The Teatr Kreatur was a theater founded by Andrej Woron in 1988, which had its venue in the Theater Am Ufer on Tempelhofer Ufer in Berlin-Kreuzberg . The Theater am Ufer itself was founded in 1987 by a private sponsor.

history

The Teatr Kreatur was founded in 1988 by the native Polish Andrej Woron, who took up the tradition of the Polish theater avant-garde. The second production, Die Zimtläden (1990) after Bruno Schulz , was a huge success. The third production, The End of the Poor House According to Isaac Babel , was released in 1992 as the first free, i.e. H. Independent production from state and city theaters invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen .

After 16 years, the Teatr Kreatur left the premises on Tempelhofer Ufer in 2003; the Am Ufer theater was incorporated into the Hebbel Theater .

Andrej Woron has been working as a freelance director for opera and theater since 1998 with engagements at the Berliner Ensemble , Theater Konstanz and the Nationaltheater Mannheim .
