André Vard (* on November 9th ) is a Wiesbaden- based drummer , musician , songwriter and sound designer who has worked with artists such as Erick Decks , Kader Kesek ( Megalomaniax ), Linkin Park , Pink , Marilyn Manson , The Prodigy and many others performed and worked or works.

In 2001 he played with his former band Korona at Rock am Ring , Rock im Park and other festivals and as the opening act for some bands in the metal scene such as Ill Niño .

As a solo artist he performed at the Vienna Fashion Week, among others . His specialty, in the interplay of acoustic and electronic drums, is the dynamization of electronic drum sounds, as they are otherwise only produced by acoustic drums, but also in reverse, making an acoustic set sound like an electronic drum kit.

Life

André Vard drummed on saucepans from a very early age and still creates sounds with them today. He got his first drums at the age of 9 and he made his first public appearance with a school band. André Vard first acquired his skills in a drum club at his school at the time, then with a private drum teacher, where he learned basic exercises for the snare drum for a year . Later he briefly took part in workshops with the well-known jazz drummer Janusz Maria Stefański and completed the master class at the Drummers Collective in New York . But he is largely self-taught . He has been making music professionally since 1996 and meanwhile also works in the studio as a sound designer, composer and producer for television and film music, computer games and other artists, bands and various companies. In addition, he develops his own sound projects, such as working with hip hop and street dance crews , for which he uses the noises generated by the dancers to develop individual sounds and then create beats and music. André Vard works with the composer and musician Rolf Gehlhaar , among others .

Works

In 1996, the EP published Since Phunk the Crossover - / Hip-Hop - / radio -Formation Funk-A-Tac . The solo projects United Beats Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and Short Cut Solos followed . In 2005, after several EPs, the debut album Beaking The Silence by the band Korona was released , from which some songs like Tomorrow: Cut! made it to number 1 in many well-known internet charts. André Vard is currently producing various songs and sounds for his multimedia project Bionicsounds , which are also played on the radio .

Equipment

André Vard plays a drum set combination of Spaun Drums (acoustic) and Roland V-Drums (electronic), sticks from ICE STIX Germany , cymbals from Sabian and / or Paiste , Factory Metal Percussion Cymbals , and the Demon Direct Drive foot machine from Pearl .
