Technical assistance system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A technical system that supports a person in the execution of tasks is called a technical assistance system . These tasks are thus partially automated and can be viewed as an alternative to full automation.

Information assistance

Information assistants ( assistance system ) are used to supply a user with (as far as possible) relevant information. This is a software system . A voice assistant also belongs to this category. Bielefeld University offers a very advanced system with its ADAMAAS research project. Such systems are known as cognitive assistance systems and are used e.g. B. realized as smart glasses .

Environmental assistance

Ambient Assistance is a concept for mainly technical support of tasks in the immediate work or living area. The purely technical implementation is usually referred to as "Smart Environment", while researchers in computer science speak of Ambient Intelligence . Projects around Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) and smart home solutions have given rise to hopes for broad application . Such systems connect sensor networks and mechanical actuators with processors and suitable software. AAL systems should enable older people to live as long and independently as possible at home. The annual German AAL Congress also takes place.

Driver assistance

Driver assistants are intended to provide more comfort and safety . Starting with cruise control to lane keeping and lane change as well as fully automatic parking assistants, many aspects of vehicle guidance can now (as of 2017) be automated. The goal is autonomous driving . Due to unregulated legal questions on liability in the event of accidents and damage, as well as a lack of experience in the safety of autonomous vehicles, their development and distribution remains unresolved for the time being.
