Career

Peter Cehlárik went through the junior departments of the MsHK Žilina from his hometown before moving to Luleå HF in October 2011 . In the 2011/12 season, the winger made his debut in the J20 SuperElit , the highest junior league in Sweden, but was mainly used in the club's J18. In the following season 2012/13 the Slovak established himself in the J20 and became their top scorer with 37 points from 38 games. As a result, he was appointed to Luleå HF's A-squad for the first time in February 2013 and made his debut a little later in the Elitserien , where the 17-year-old became the youngest scorer in the club's history. He then signed a new three-year contract in Luleå in March 2013 and was selected a little later in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in 90th position by the Boston Bruins .

In the 2013/14 season Cehlárik established himself in Luleå HF's squad and played 32 games in the Svenska Hockeyligan (SHL), although he had spent the beginning of the season on loan at Asplöven HC in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan . As a result, the Slovak played two more complete seasons in Luleå, where he won the Champions Hockey League 2014/15 with the team . In June 2016, he signed an entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins after being selected in 27th position by Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the 2016 KHL Junior Draft a few weeks earlier . So Cehlárik switched to the organization of the Bruins in the summer of 2016 and will be employed there with their farm team , the Providence Bruins , in the American Hockey League (AHL) at the beginning of the 2016/17 season . In addition, the Boston Bruins appointed him for the first time in February 2017, so that he made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) a little later .

International

Cehlárik first represented his home country in the 2012/13 season when he took part in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 and the U18 World Cup in 2013 . He then was part of the Slovak U20 national team at the U20 World Championships in 2014 and 2015 , with the team winning the bronze medal in 2015. As part of the 2016 World Cup , the winger made his debut for the senior national team and finished ninth.
