history

Founding by Hubertus Küpper

Hubertus Küpper, former board member of the Internet service provider Stollcom, took over in 1998 and after the bankruptcy of Stollcom AG Co. masterminded he built Stollcom call center in Dortmund . Together with Karl Ulrich Schönemeyer, he founded the CTD Innovationstechnologie im Dialog GmbH (later Tectum Customer Care Dortmund GmbH ). In 1998 the second branch of the company Delfon Kommunikationstechnologie GmbH (later Tectum Sales GmbH ), and in 2002 the company branch Data Contact GmbH (later Tectum Professional Services GmbH ) was founded. The three companies were merged in 2005 in the TECTUM Consulting GmbH & Co. KG group. In 2006 Tectum Customer Care Essen GmbH joined the group of companies; Tectum now operated call centers in Dortmund, Essen and Gelsenkirchen.

Participation through Quadriga, expansion, departure of the Küpper family

In 2007, the Frankfurt investment company Quadriga Capital took a stake in Tectum. From then on, the founding family Küpper and Quadriga Capital each held half of the new parent company Tectum Consulting GmbH . Hubertus Küpper remained CEO.

In 2009 Tectum opened another location in Oberhausen and expanded into international markets for the first time: The group took over Alex & Gross Communications GmbH in Schwetzingen and its subsidiaries in Belgium, Switzerland, Poland and Bulgaria. The Alex & Gross Communications GmbH changed its name to the tectum Business Solutions GmbH . While the European national companies now combined under Tectum Business Solutions GmbH mainly offered business-to-business services, the business was concentrated in Germany, via Tectum Customer Care Essen GmbH , Tectum Customer Care Dortmund GmbH and Tectum Professional Services GmbH was settled on call center services in the business-to-consumer area.

In the years from 2007 to 2012, Tectum was one of the ten largest call center operators in Germany with 1900 (2007) to 2800 (2012) employees. During this time, many companies in the call center industry came under public criticism for their behavior as employers. The Tectum group also acquired a bad public image. The allegations included very low pay for employees. According to the ver.di union , a total of 18 labor court proceedings were pending against the Tectum Group in 2008, and nine proceedings in 2009 until the end of April.

In 2010 the Küpper family sold their remaining company shares to Quadriga Capital. Theo Reichert was the CEO of the Tectum Group and, from June 2012, Andreas Alex (formerly Managing Director of Tectum Business Solutions GmbH ). The later Amevida owner Matthias Eickhoff joined the management team as CFO in June 2012 .

On December 7, 2012, the Essen District Court approved the group's application to initiate protective shield proceedings under insolvency law. In the course of the restructuring process, the management, in coordination with the works council, dismissed around 500 employees in order to ensure the continued existence of the group. Over 80 percent of all jobs in the region were secured and the locations were retained. The protective shield proceedings were successfully concluded in July 2013.

Realignment as Amevida

Matthias Eickhoff became the new managing director of Tectum in 2013. In the course of the realignment of the company, the ownership structure of the corporate group was reorganized: With effect from December 1, 2013, Tectum Consulting GmbH separated from its subsidiary Tectum Business Solutions GmbH . The business-to-business business of Tectum Business Solutions was continued as Axivas Deutschland GmbH by Quadriga Capital and Andreas Alex, while Eickhoff, now the sole owner of Tectum Consulting GmbH, took over the private customer business.

On June 1, 2014, Tectum Consulting GmbH transferred its operational business to the newly founded Amevida GmbH , whose managing director Matthias Eickhoff also became. The subsidiaries Tectum Professional Services GmbH , Tectum Sales GmbH and Tectum Customer Care Essen GmbH renamed Amevida Professional Services , Amevida Sales and Amevida Customer Care Essen .

At the end of September 2014, the Bochum call center company Sellgate GmbH was taken over by Dreicom GmbH (again sole shareholder Matthias Eickhoff). Until the merger of Dreicom GmbH with Amevida in 2018, the sister company Dreicom in Bochum and from 2017 in Düsseldorf acted as a subcontractor and personnel service provider for Amevida.

In 2015, the current (2018) structure and legal form of the company were created: Amevida Sales GmbH , Amevida Customer Care Essen GmbH and Amevida Professional Services GmbH merged with Amevida GmbH effective May 26, 2015 , and Amevida GmbH as of June 9, 2015 to Amevida SE .

In 2017, Amevida took over a call center in Düsseldorf from the previous operator Capita and opened the new company headquarters in Gelsenkirchen in the listed former administration building of Thyssen Draht AG .

As a result of the merger of the sister company Dreicom GmbH with Amevida SE in 2018 , all Dreicom employment relationships were transferred to Amevida ( Dreicom GmbH had 430 employees in the 2016/17 period ).
