Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" Malloch (born September 22, 1952 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American entrepreneur, university professor and author.

Life

Ted Malloch grew up in Philadelphia . He received his bachelor's degree from Gordon Christian College and his master's degree from Aberdeen University , and graduated with a Ph.D. in International Political Economy from the University of Toronto .

Career

Malloch was a Fellow of the Aspen Institute and served on the Executive Board of the World Economic Forum . In 2005 he founded the Spiritual Enterprise Institute with financial support from the John Templeton Foundation . In his autobiography, published in 2016, he reports on his work as a "global Sherpa" for important political and economic conferences around the world.

He is currently Professor of Strategic Leadership at Henley Business School ( University of Reading ).

"Designated EU Ambassador to the USA"

After US President Trump took office , Malloch was considered a possible EU ambassador. He is considered a Brexit proponent, called the euro a " bad construction" and said in a BBC interview:

“I had in a previous career a diplomatic post where I helped bring down the Soviet Union. So maybe there's another union that needs a little taming. "

Gianni Pittella , leader of the Socialist parliamentary group , appealed to Tusk in the same way.

On May 25, 2017, Spiegel Online reported , citing the Wall Street Journal , that Malloch was out of the question as an EU ambassador and, according to the US State Department, he was never considered a candidate for the post.

Incorrect information in the CV

On February 9, 2017, FT.com ( Financial Times online ) published an article with indications that Malloch's résumé contains embellished, exaggerated and also apparently false claims. Malloch published a guest post on Breitbart.com on February 19, 2017 , in which he repeated allegations and made new ones. FT.com released a reiteration and update of its allegations against Malloch on February 23, 2017.
