The Telcat Multicom GmbH (proper spelling in capital letters ) is an independent German systems provider based in Salzgitter . The company, which was founded as a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG , employs around 520 people (as of 2018) at around 25 locations and sells services in the field of communication , information and security technology .
history
In 1986 Telcat Multicom GmbH was spun off from the telecommunications department of Salzgitter AG , which had existed since 1945, and TELCAT - Gesellschaft für Telekommunikation und Catering mbH - was founded.
In 1991 the branches in Peine , Hamburg , Bitterfeld , Hanover and Ostharz were opened or taken over.
1994 The catering division was sold, and the company was renamed Telcat Kommunikationstechnik GmbH . New buildings in Sudetenstrasse 10 were moved into.
In 1995 the sales and service structure of Hagenuk Telecom GmbH was taken over and TELCAT MULTICOM GmbH was founded. With this the Telcat group became active nationwide.
1997 The entry into the fixed line business and the marketing of "TELCAT teleNET" to private and business customers was implemented. When Salzgitter AG was spun off from Preussag AG in 1998, the Telcat companies were taken over by Salzgitter AG.
In 2002 Telcat Multicom acquired Telefonbau Marienfeld GmbH & Co. KG . For the marketing of telecommunication services to private customers
2005 betterCALL GmbH founded. At the same time, the scope of services was expanded to include network security services by the Safeconsult division . A server-based PBX was developed and is marketed as Telcat UC .
In 2008 Telcat Multicom acquired NorthStar Telecom GmbH .
In 2009 a new branch was opened in Cologne . The TELCAT group now has more than 20 locations in Germany.
In 2015, Telefonbau Marienfeld & NorthStar Telecom GmbH were integrated into Telcat Multicom.
In 2018 TELCAT takes over the majority in Exabyters Betriebs GmbH.
