from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Telemark World Cup in Rauris has been part of the Telemark World Cup since the 2010 season . It is organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the Army Winter Sports Association (AWSA) in collaboration with the UK. The competitions take place at Kreuzboden ( 47 ° 13 ′ 46 ″ N, 12 ° 58 ′ 50 ″ E ) and Waldalm ( 47 ° 13 ′ 42 ″ N, 12 ° 57 ′ 38 ″ E ).

history

Andrew Clarke's British team and those responsible for the FIS in the Telemark area wanted to host a Telemark World Cup in Rauris and so it came about that the first World Cup was held in 2010. In the 2011 season, the World Cup in Bohinj was canceled due to insufficient snow, which is why the Classic Sprint in Rauris was rescheduled and therefore three events were held on the World Cup weekend. In the 2012 season it was not possible to organize the Classic Sprint race due to bad weather and lack of snow, so the World Cup was canceled completely. A year later, because of the spectators and the weather, the organizers decided to move the Classic from January 18, 2013 to January 19, 2013 and the Classic Sprint from January 19, 2013 to January 18, 2013.
