The TELES Aktiengesellschaft Information Technologies is a manufacturer of communications solutions for carriers and business customers. According to the company, 300 network operators and business customers around the world are using TELES solutions and technologies. TELES AG sells subscriber, fixed network replacement and network infrastructure solutions as well as products for network interconnection.
history
In 1983 Sigram Schindler founded "TELES GmbH" in Berlin in cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin . Until 1988 Schindler was a lecturer in the field of telecommunications at the Technical University of Berlin. In 1997 Manager Magazin named Schindler "High-Tech Manager of the Year 1997". In 1999 TELES bought the electronics dealer Gravis . By 2013, the participation was gradually sold again. The former subsidiary Strato AG was sold to today's freenet AG in 2005 , became the property of Deutsche Telekom in 2009 and United Internet in 2017.
In the 1990s, Teles was a manufacturer of ISDN products such as ISDN cards and ISDN terminal adapters as well as professional ISDN telephone systems. In 2000, production, sales, driver software development and support were discontinued.
