Tellef Dahll

Tellef Dahll (born April 10, 1825 in Kragerø , † June 17, 1893 in Morgedal ) was a Norwegian geologist.

Dahll acquired his candidate title in mineralogy in Oslo in 1846 and was manager of an iron mine in Arendal from 1850 . Then he was involved in the geological survey of Norway, founded in 1858, and in the creation of the geological map of Norway, first in the south (as a colleague of Theodor Kjerulf ) and then in the far north. He also discovered mineral resources ( apatite in Bamle , gold in Finnmark , coal on Andøya and nickel on Senja ). In 1872 he became a mining inspector.

In 1865/66 he represented the office of Bratsberg in the Norwegian parliament.
