from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Telmo Rodriguez is a well-known Spanish winemaker . He is considered to be "one of the most distinguished winemakers in Spain" and is known as a "famous winemaker".

Rodriguez studied viticulture in Bordeaux , France . Since he did not want to work with a father, he did not take over the local estate in the Rioja region after completing his studies , but explored all of Spain, where you can "revive forgotten wine traditions". In 1994 he began to produce wine together with two other winemakers, initially under the company name “Compañía de Vinos de La Granja”.

Rodriguez produces wine in a total of nine different regions in Spain, namely in (as of mid-2014): Rioja , Ribera del Duero , Toro , Valdeorras , Cigales , Rueda , Cebreros , Alicante and Málaga .

One of his most famous wines is the white wine Cuveé Basa, which mainly (85%) consists of the Verdejo grape.
