Teluk Bintuni ( German Bintuni Bay ) is an Indonesian government district ( Kabupaten ) in the province of West Papua (Papua Barat) on the island of New Guinea . Its main town is Bintuni .
geography
The government district encompasses the bay of Bintuni . The two parts of the administrative district on the Vogelkop and the Bomberai Peninsula only touch at a narrow point in the east. Only the west of the land bridge between the peninsulas belongs to Teluk Bintuni. To the east is the Teluk Wondama administrative district . In the south, Teluk Bintuni extends to the Kamraub Bay and thus divides the Kaimana administrative region . To the southwest, the Fakfak administrative district completes the Bomberai Peninsula. On Vogelkop, Teluk Bintuni borders on South Sorong (Sorong Selatan) in the west and Manokwari in the north .
The islands of Amutu Besar and Asap belong to Teluk Bintuni in the bay of the same name .
