Tempelfelde is a district of the municipality of Sydower Fließ in the district of Barnim ( Brandenburg ) with around 400 inhabitants

history

Tempelfelde is first mentioned in a document in the land book of Charles IV from 1375. The origin of the place name is not known. The founding of the place is associated with the Knights Templar, but this cannot be documented. Noteworthy is an urn field discovered in 1925 in the direction of Grüntal and urn fragments found in the area of the Rotpfuhl Mountains. Since it was customary in the early Middle Ages that cemeteries had to be approved by the church (Pope), it is obvious that the place Tempelfelde was originally a cemetery for members of the Templar Order and that rural settlements settled around this cemetery. Tempelfelde must therefore be older than its first documented mention in 1375, as there was no longer any Knights Templar around 1375 and all properties went to the Margraves of Brandenburg and the Johanniter.

The place arose along a street that was used to settle the area east of the Oder (in the form of a street perch village ). The center of the village is the area with the medieval church. The Anger area between Grüntaler Straße and Lindenstraße is still characterized by large agricultural farms.

Since October 17, 2012 there has been a memorial plaque in the church of Tempelfelde in honor of Countess Sophie Juliane Friederike von Dönhoff , who owned an estate in Beerbaum from 1805 until her death , which also includes the villages of Tempelfelde and Gratze ( district of Märkisch -Orland ) had heard. She was honored for her commitment to social and agricultural reform.

On September 27, 1998, Tempelfelde was merged with the community of Grüntal to form the community of Sydower Fließ.

The wind farm in Tempelfelde, which consists of 16 wind turbines , was the largest wind farm in Brandenburg when it went into operation in 1998. In the meantime, the originally built systems have been repowered and replaced by Vestas V112-3.0 MW systems.
