The Tenaza Peak is a 1,345 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Anare Mountains, it rises 3.5 km east of Mount Pechell in the west-central part of Hedgpeth Heights .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Richard Reuben Tenaza (* 1939), who was part of the United States Antarctic Research Program from 1967 to 1968 worked as a biologist at Hallett Station .
